Release time:Jun 04, 2026
Recently, Myvision (Shanghai) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (“Myvision”), a controlling subsidiary of Mabwell, made its appearance at Retina China 2026. At the conference, the company presented two clinical study results and announced the establishment of an innovative ophthalmic ecosystem partnership.
Oral Presentations of Two Ophthalmic Clinical Data
Results from the Phase III clinical study of 9MW0813 (aflibercept biosimilar) in diabetic macular edema (DME) were presented by Professor Wei Wenbin from Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University. The study results demonstrated that in DME patients, 9MW0813 (2 mg) and the reference product Eylea® (2 mg) showed similar clinical efficacy, safety, immunogenicity, biomarker, and pharmacokinetic profiles.
Results from the Phase II/III clinical study of 9MW0211 (recombinant anti‑VEGF humanized monoclonal antibody injection) in neovascular age‑related macular degeneration (nAMD) were presented by Professor Zhang Ming from West China Hospital of Sichuan University. The study results demonstrated that in nAMD subjects, 9MW0211 was non‑inferior to Lucentis® in BCVA improvement, and 9MW0211 showed an advantage in subretinal/intraretinal fluid resolution.
Ecosystem Partnership: Myvision Embarks on a New Journey

At the conference, Myvision, together with expert and scholar representatives from hospitals, universities, and enterprises, witnessed the establishment of the Ophthalmic Innovation Ecosystem Platform.
Myvision’s ophthalmic innovation ecosystem focuses on two major directions: first, medical‑engineering translation – collaborating with clinical experts to efficiently translate innovative technologies into ophthalmic products; second, commercial partnerships with external biopharmaceutical and medical device companies – providing full‑chain support from market access to academic promotion for high‑quality ophthalmic products. Driven by the dual engines of medical‑engineering translation and external collaboration, Myvision will continue to pool industry resources, work with partners to advance the high‑quality development of China’s ophthalmic diagnosis and treatment ecosystem, and bring innovative therapies to more patients.
Dr. Liu Datao, Chairman and CEO of Mabwell, stated: “Age‑related diseases are a key focus area for Mabwell, and ophthalmic diseases are an important part of that. Eye health is critical to people’s quality of life and the high‑quality development of the healthcare system. Mabwell will make long‑term investments in ophthalmology, continuously driving source innovation, clinical translation, and ecosystem synergy. I believe that in the future, China will certainly see more innovative ophthalmic drugs that can enter developed markets while benefiting domestic patients at a lower burden.”
You Weizhi, General Manager of Myvision, commented: “The establishment of the Ophthalmic Innovation Ecosystem Platform marks a new phase for Myvision as we formally move toward product realization and ecosystem synergy. None of this would be possible without the trust of our experts and partners. We firmly believe that the future of ophthalmic innovation lies in openness and collaboration. Myvision is willing to act as the ecosystem connector – connecting the insights of clinical experts on one hand, and the strength of industry and capital on the other. From medical‑engineering translation to commercial launch, we aim to empower every valuable idea. We look forward to joining hands with more like‑minded partners to build a sustainable, co‑growing Chinese ophthalmic innovation ecosystem and promote high‑quality development of China’s ophthalmic diagnosis and treatment ecosystem.”
